Getting Here

Located in Southwest Colorado, Telluride and Mountain Village are off the beaten path and well worth making the journey.

With direct flights from Denver, Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles and Newark, traveling to Telluride is easier than ever.

With everything within walking distance, there is no need for a car. The free gondola provides transportation between the two towns 7am-midnight daily(in-season). Pets and bicycles are welcome and the gondola provides access for handicapped travelers.

If you choose not to walk or just don't feel like it, the Galloping Goose offers free rides within the town of Telluride. Dial-a-Ride provides complimentary transportation around the Mountain Village.

 

Driving
During the summer, normal driving times are as follows:

  • Montrose - 1-1/2 hours
  • Durango - 2-1/2 hours
  • Grand Junction - 2-1/2 hours
  • Ouray - 1 hour
  • Denver - 6-7 hours
  • Phoenix - 8-9 hours
  • Albuquerque - 5-6 hours
  • Moab UT-2-1/2 hours
  • Mesa Verde National Park - 2-1/2 hrs to Visitor Center in park.
  • Arches National Park--just outside Moab, 2-1/2 hrs
  • Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park-- 1 3/4 hrs

 

Flying
With daily flights from Denver, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Los Angeles and Phoenix, Telluride and Mountain Village are easier to get to than ever!

Telluride Regional Airport(TEX)is the highest commercial airport in North America and just 6 miles from town, offers daily service from Denver on Great Lakes Airlines and America West from Phoenix.

Montrose Regional Airport, a scenic 75 minutes away, has year-round daily service on United Express, from Denver and Continental Airlines from Houston. In-season service includes direct flights from Chicago, Dallas and Los Angeles on American Airlines and non-stop flights from Newark on Continental Airlines.

Telluride can also be reached by flying into Durango (DRO), 120 miles SE, Cortez (CEZ), 80 miles S, and Grand Junction (GJT), 128 miles N.
